One of the nice parts about vacationing in Williamsburg is that the drive is not too long!
The first night we were in town, Tom, Colleen, George, Andrea and I went for a walk on the Restoration. The weather was perfect; which is not very common for Virginia in July.
Andrea made a mop hat for Colleen which was too cute!

One cool old tree!
One of the things everyone likes to do at Williamsburg is to go to the Farmers' Market. Lots of fresh produce, cheeses, meats, and baked goods.
While out, Tom and I stopped at the candy store to pick up some goodies to eat for the week. (While I tried one, I decided not to get the chocolate covered gummy bears). Colleen loved to look at the colorful candy and was smiling at all the guests.
The condo was fun to stay in and we had lots to keep us busy...
Cole checking out Colleen's play mat.
Anna showing off her hat with the flower made by Tom's mom.
Tom and Jeff playing the (annoying) tank game.
Mario Kart was a group favorite!
George sweeping. (Tom wanted proof!)
A nap can never involve too many pillows.
Shopping at the outlets was more fun for Andrea and I than it was for Tom. That was until he found this...
One of the days, several of us went on a a harbor cruise. Colleen's first boat trip!
These are some pictures we took before boarding the boat.
(We didn't buy this shirt...)

(Tried to get a picture of Aleks and I, but he was being camera shy.)
Dressing up Colleen in some Southwest gear!
The boat ride was so great. We found that if we ever can't get Colleen to sleep, we should just find a boat to take her on!
A stop at Fort Wool.
We saw quite a few battleships in the naval yard.
Some wildlife
We even saw a rescue mission! Hat overboard!
Another night, we drove out to the Visitor's Center to check out the gift shop and the bookstore. That trip ended up at the ice cream shop!
One of our "traditions" at Williamsburg is to all go out for a buffet breakfast at the Williamsburg Inn. We often laugh because every time we go, they put us in a room all to ourselves. Not sure if they do that because we are a big group and need the space, or if they don't want our crazy group mingling with the other guests!
After breakfast, we often try to take some family pictures outside. It was tough to get the kids to all sit together and smile. This was one of the best "grandchildren" pictures I got!
Trying to get the kids to smile and look for the pictures!
This year, George organized a Lego competition. People involved were given a set of random Lego pieces and some Lego people. They had to use their Legos to create a scene-story and all! We then voted on the best use of characters, the best story, the most creative, and the scene Lego would most likely make into a set to sell. I was quite impressed with the results!
It was another great trip! Looking forward to going again in two years!
