On Halloween 2012

The weekend before Halloween, Tom carved one of our pumpkins and I toasted the seeds.  Colleen, too little to help with either of those activities, watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

Halloween was a teacher workday for us this year as it was the end of the first quarter.  So, Tom and I were excited that we could attend the Halloween party at Colleen's daycare.  Here are a few pictures of Colleen from the party.  Thanks goes out to the Dad who took these pictures!

We decided to take Colleen trick-or-treating this year.  Since she can't eat a lot of the candy, we only took her to a handful of houses.  Our little monster (thanks Kara and Andy for the costume) rode in style!

I think her favorite part of the evening was counting her loot!  She dumped out her candy and put it back in her bag about ten times.  She also enjoyed watching all the kids come to get candy.  I think she is going to take after her Daddy....she seems to enjoy Halloween!

On a Mangan Visit

The weekend after Jen and Mark came, more visitors arrived.  My parents, along with my Grandma Mangan and Aunt Janeil drove in for the weekend.  This was the first time my Aunt Janeil met Colleen and they got along great!

After Tom came home from football practice, we decided to head to the mountains.  So, we spent the day walking around the beautiful town of Boone, North Carolina.  It was busy as there was trick-or-treating and a parade and kids in costume everywhere.  But it was great to see family that I don't see often and wished their visit could have lasted longer.

On a Paisley Visit

We were so lucky to have so many visitors in October!  Jen and Mark were in North Carolina for a wedding and were able to stop by for part of the weekend.  I think it is amazing that even though Colleen has only met Jen one time, it was like she's seen her every weekend of her life.  She climbed right into Jen's arms or lap whenever she could.  I think she knows that Jen is someone important!

And, although you can't tell in any of these pictures, a big congratulations go to Jen and Mark as they are expecting a baby around mid April!  So excited for them!

On a Pumpkin Patch

On Tom's birthday, his parents stopped by for a visit on their way to the beach for vacation.  While they were here, we took Colleen to a pumpkin patch and the Farmer's Market.  Colleen loved picking up the pumpkins and carrying them around.  She also loved running through the Pumpkin House at the Farmer's Market.  They were both great places to get some good pictures!

On Labor Day Weekend 2012

Labor Day Weekend By the Numbers:
6 adults
4 kids ages four and under
1 house

We had a great time with my parents and Kara's family over Labor Day weekend!

We took all the kids to the Children's Museum in Winston Salem.

Can't wait until we are all together again soon!
