I think she liked it because for a few minutes she forgot that she doesn't like this new winter hat we bought her!

On Snowfall
One thing that Tom and I really miss about living in North Carolina is snow. I know that most people complain about the snow, but I think a blanket of fresh fallen snow is just beautiful. We were really hoping to see some snow in Ohio this Christmas, but the weather outlook is not good. However, while we were in the store getting our new cell phones activated, we noticed it started to flurry. So, we plopped a hat on Colleen's head and ran outside to show her the snow.
On a Carolina Christmas
Since Tom, Colleen, and I are traveling home to Ohio for Christmas, we wanted to make sure we had a mini Christmas with Colleen before we left. So, the Friday before we left, Tom and I gave our presents to Colleen. After spending the evening playing with her new toys, we put her to bed and made chicken fettucine alfredo and exchanged gifts ourselves.
A recycled gift from the Uhl family!
Colleen's favorite part was chewing the wrapping paper.
My mom made a beautiful stocking that is similar to the one I had growing up as a child. Colleen enjoys the heart buttons-my mom's trademark!

On Thanksgiving 2011
My first Thanksgiving was awesome! I got to see Nini, Pop Pop, Great Grandma Mangan, Uncle Kyle, Aunt Kara, Uncle Andy, Sophie, Owen, and James. Take a look!

The Birthday Party
Glad I was able to celebrate Uncle Kyle's birthday over the Thanksgiving weekend!
We celebrated with vegan desserts.
Nini taught Sophie all about colors using icing and food coloring.
Daddy, Pop Pop and Uncle Andy were very interested in watching some football game.
I think I like this holiday!
On a Thanksgiving with the Rees Family
This year, over Veteran's day weekend, Tom's mom, dad, and sister Christine came to North Carolina for a visit and to have a Thanksgiving meal.
On Friday, we took a trip into the Mountains.
On Saturday, we stayed in to cook and eat our meal.
Colleen and Christine had some snuggle time.
Colleen was all about the meal. She had some pumpkin apple stage two food.
We also went to the Salem Creek store which always has amazing Christmas decorations. Colleen also ran into someone quite famous....
